American hardcore punk band, formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1981. Considered among of the pioneers of hardcore punk, particularly in the Midwest. Like most hardcore bands, Negative Approach was little known in the early days. Now, thanks to the fact that they simply will not stop kicking ass, John Brannon and the gang are idolized in the rock underground and punk subculture, considered to be one of the elite bands of any era.
They initially broke up in 1984 with Brannon moving onto Laughing Hyenas and later Easy Action, but the band has been back in business since 2006 and hasn’t lost a step.
