One Liner Madness is a Time Out Critics' Pick live comedy show that travels the country finding the best joke writer in every major comedy hub. 

On Sat. Jan 31, 64 Milwaukee-area comedians will go head-to-head in a fast-paced, bracket-style, single-elimination joke contest where a winner is crowned in just 100 minutes. Audience applause determines which performers advance and who ultimately takes the trophy, cash prize, and Milwaukee bragging rights for a year. (To that end: Feel free to bring noise-makers if you hate screaming.) 

One Liner Madness has been profiled on/in WGN, The New York Times, Axios, The Boston Globe, LAist, WHYY and more. The show is hosted by comedian and game show writer Emily Winter, 2025 Madison One Liner Madness Champion Kayla Ruth, and comedian Chris Calogero.
