PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Summary
The Production Assistant is responsible for all aspects of event production for designated events both on-site at X-Ray Arcade and off-site at other venues (e.g., Falcon Hall, Cactus Club, Sugar Maple, etc). They are the liaison between the promoter (X-Ray Arcade Presents), the artists, and the venue. They are responsible for making sure we have complied with contracted requirements including artist buyouts, rider shop, preparation of the event space, and settling payments for artists.
Specific Functions
Be on-site at events from load-in until load-out
Shop hospitality riders
Use ticketing platform (eTix) to print will call lists
Fill out settlement sheets for events
Communicate final settlement figures to management
Sell tickets at door (some events)
Work with artists/tour manager (if applicable) to ensure needs are met throughout the night
Settle with artists and venue at the end of the night
Required Skills / Abilities
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
Basic Excel / Google Drive proficiency
Ability and willingness to work during event hours, approximately 4pm-midnight for most events
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, and helping move equipment on and off-stage as needed.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers in a noisy environment.
Ability to periodically work at a computer seated at a desk.
Ability to travel to/from event space.
Salary / Benefits
The starting salary will be $20 per hour, and the expected engagement is roughly 8-10 hours per shift across an average of 2-3 events per week. It will vary week to week. There is room to grow this role and its responsibilities over time.
